The 33-year-old has since confessed to feeling extremely affected by his serious lack of privacy after the outstanding success of the vampire franchise. During the peak of his Twilight fame, the actor would do anything he could to get away from herds of paparazzi who were following his every move.

He would ride in the trunks of cars just to avoid being seen, or switch clothes and cars with his friends while out in order to confuse photographers. “People were like, ‘It’s fine, who cares? They’re just photos,'” he recalled. “They’ll say, ‘Just live your life.’ But that’s not life for me, if someone’s observing it.”
