Onscreen, Marion Lorne portrayed the forgetful and bumbling Aunt Clara, Samantha’s favorite aunt who would often make visits to the Stephens’ home by coming down their chimney.
She had plenty of eccentricities, too, with perhaps the most unusual being her collection of door knobs. Surprisingly, that was based on Lorne’s own passion. Over the years, the actress had amassed over a thousand antique door knobs, some of which ended up being used as props on the set of Bewitched.
