According to reports from the lawsuit, Matthews and Marie had a verbal agreement where Marie promised to donate 10% of her winnings to her church. There was not written contract, however, but Kevin claimed that the two discussed the amount and he made some financial commitments according to the number that was discussed.
Those commitments were broken after he did not receive the ten million dollars that Marie allegedly promised.
