In July 2012, after a three-year relationship with her Twilight co-star, Stewart was caught having an affair with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, leaving Pattinson feeling “heartbroken and humiliated.”
She released a public apology to People shortly after, saying, “This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.” The apology seemed to work – for a little while that is – as they temporarily got back together after the scandal until finally calling things off in April 2013.
