Those who aren’t familiar with Pattinson’s impressive post-Twilight work, unfortunately, had difficulty picturing the former teen vampire as the beloved DC Comics superhero. “Waking up to Robert Pattinson being confirmed as the new Batman is actually heartbreaking,” one Twitter follower wrote.
Others, however, were willing to wait and see how he takes on the new role before stating any criticism. “Robert Pattinson wouldn’t have even been on my radar for Batman, but I’m willing to wait and see,” one user commented.
