How Robert Pattinson struggled with fame and heartbreak on his rise to stardom

Thanks to his well-acclaimed, beloved role as Cedric in the Harry Potter film, Pattinson was receiving plenty of positive attention in the industry. He was was even named the British Star of Tomorrow by The Times and was getting hailed by many as “the next Jude Law.”

At this point, the fresh-faced actor was hopping from one movie to the next. He appeared in made-for-TV films such as The Haunted Airman and The Bad Mother’s Handbook, as well as some Indie flicks in 2008 including the dark-comedy How to Be and Spanish-British drama Little Ashes – where he portrayed the Spanish artist Salvador Dali. Later that year, however, Pattinson had an audition for the movie that would ultimately change his life forever.
