Tootie was the only African-American cast member and the youngest character on the show. Because of this, the producers often put her in roller skates to make her appear taller. Tootie was also known for her braces and for gossiping… a lot. Tootie was involved in some very serious plot lines such as an episode where a friend of hers tries to convince her that she should only associate with African-American people. Tootie was on the show from the first season until the end.
