In 1999, eight-year-old Jake Lloyd ended up in a unique position – playing one of the  most beloved characters in the revamp of one of the most successful franchises of all time. Cast as a young Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Lloyd seemed destined for superstardom.

Sadly, things turned out differently. Two years after the movie, his acting career was over. The level of fame he attained at such an early age destroyed his life, he said, and he refuses to watch the movie that made him a star to this day.
