Whether she meant it or not, Paula Deen was in the firing line back in 2013 after using a racist term against one of her former restaurant employees. The chef admitted to having said the word but was quick to issue an apology. It looked like many people were willing to move forward. That was until her company released their own statement defending Paula’s choice of language by stating she was born in a different era to the world today.
