It seems as though Geoffrey couldn’t help but cut a number of corners when it came to running his restaurant. Staff accused the chef of falsifying their pay records, had their paychecks cut for food they never ate, and even refused to pay a ton of overtime. All that stress meant the employees were asking for $250,000 in penalties and $1 million in damages. Although Geoffrey denied the claims, trying to fight off the lawsuit was too much for his bank balance.
