It turns out there is a reason for Miss Piggy’s over the top attitude – she is compensating for a really traumatic childhood. According to muppeteer Frank Oz, Piggy was born in Iowa, and her father died when Piggy was at a really young age. Her mother apparently wasn’t the nicest of people, and forced Piggy to do beauty contests to make money. All of this definitely took a toll on Miss Piggy’s psyche. Luckily, she met Kermit, and is now in a more healthy relationship.
