It may surprise fans to learn that the show had an Oscar winning director at the helm when it was in its beginning stages. Director Paul Haggis was one of the show’s co-creators, but he didn’t stick around long. In fact, Haggis hated the show, and later said he regretted that he had anything to do with it. After just a few short weeks of filming, Haggis threw in the towel, and left the show for good. But it certainly never hurt his career, as he went on to direct incredible films.
