Tootie was best friends with Natalie Green as they were closest in age. Mindy has an interesting story about how she ended up on the show as she was not actually and actress. When the producers were doing research for the show, the visited a girls’ school in order to get an accurate representation. They ran into Mindy and they liked her so much that they created a character specifically for her. Natalie had many storylines around her weight and body image issues. She had a controversial storyline as she was the first of the girls on the show to sleep with her boyfriend.
