Icon of the ’80s and ’90s and former Bond girl, Kim Basinger, may have spent many years in front of the camera, but she actually grew up painfully shy. Although she was able to open up more as her career took off, her rise to fame was not an easy one.
She has since admitted that she suffered from several bad panic attacks at the peak of her career while she was in her 20s. In a 2001 HBO documentary, she opened up about her agoraphobia – the fear of being in public places, claiming that at times she stayed in her house for six months straight.
