It was brief, but for a time in the early to mid-2000s, Mischa Barton was Hollywood’s biggest “it girl.” After a starring role on teenage drama The O.C., she landed a string of movie roles, all of which flopped.
She spoke candidly about struggling with her weight, while her mom – then her manager – allegedly stole her earnings. It all came to a head in 2009, when Barton was hospitalized in a psychiatric facility. Her mainstream career seems all but over now, and she has stuck to appearing in indie films.
