Salome Jens had made a name for herself in the ‘50s and ‘60s as both a stage and film actress. In 1961 she appeared in drama Angel Baby which featured Burt Reynolds in a minor role. The pair hit things off and had a brief love affair following their time on set. Angel Baby was actually Reynolds’ film debut, and hooking up with a costar would be a common theme for Reynolds throughout much of his acting career. He certainly started his acting career as he meant to go on.
