Beyond his starring role in Walker, Texas Ranger, Chuck Norris was very involved in the series in a number of ways, including being a part of the show’s theme song. Norris thought that Eyes of a Ranger would be a great song for the show, and originally he wanted singer Randy Newman to perform it for the title sequence. However, the studio thought it would be more meaningful if Norris sang it himself. After 12 hours in a recording studio, and with the help of music technology, they created the now iconic track.
