Elizabeth Taylor was the definition of a star and remained an icon throughout the majority of her life. Though she was married eight times, she only had four children and she was 21 when the first was born. As a mother, she worked hard to keep her children out of the spotlight. The four remember her as being more of a friend than a disciplinarian. She was not a very hands-on mother, but she loved her children and they in turn were there for her, until her death in 2011.
