As the inevitable divorce ran its course, Angelina and Brad knew they were going to have some difficult decisions to make regarding their family. The biggest issue: who was going to get custody of the kids. Due to Brad’s alleged violent temper, Angelina applied to take sole custody of all the children. She was awarded custody and took all six of the kids as her responsibility. This caused even more confusion and frustration for Shiloh because she was the closest with Brad and now she was separated from her father.

Angelina, being the strong, independent, and confident woman that she is, did not show how hard the separation had been on her. Of course, the Brangelina split has also had a huge effect on Angelina herself – but she doesn’t let it show. In a 2017 interview, she spoke candidly about what had been going on and how she was taking everything. Anytime things got hard, she hid it until she was away from the kids because it’s important for her that they don’t see how much she is suffering.
