The thing is that Brad Pitt wasn’t the only one who had a lot of relationships before meeting Angelina. Before Angelina met Brad, she was jumping from man to man, marrying her first husband Jonny Lee Miller in the mid-90s. She would divorce Miller in 2000, and marry actor Billy Bob Thornton a mere few months later. After she was with him for a couple years, they decided they wanted to adopt a child, so they traveled to Cambodia to do so.

But although it seemed at first that Jolie and Thornton were embarking on this adoption together, it soon became clear to everyone that the undertaking would be on Jolie’s back alone. This was due to the fact that the pair were getting divorced in 2003, and Angelina was the one who now was a single mother. She named her adopted child Maddox Chivan Jolie, who we know eventually became Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt, after Brad adopted him too.
