This is the first ever supercarrier to serve in the world’s largest democracy.
While the Indian Navy is still waiting on the ship’s construction to be finished, the carrier will help to promote India’s standing in the region as well as keep itself safe from its nuclear armed rival, Pakistan. The ship will have a nuclear powered motor, meaning that it can run almost forever, and it will be able to carry 50 helicopters and planes.
