This ship, the TCG Heybeliada, is one of the prides and joys of the Turkish Navy. In fact, this ship is so revered by the Turks that they’ve nicknamed the Heybeliada the Ghost of the Seas.
The ship’s primary objective is to protect both Istanbul, and enable the freedom of movement of ships traversing the Sea of Marmara. The ship can carry helicopters, 103 troops, and even drones! This is on top of both torpedoes as well as surface to air missiles.
