This is the Helicopter Landing Dock Dixmude, and like it’s Japanese cousin, this French Vessel’s main objective is to ferry fleets of helicopters into enemy waters for support missions.
It is the third Helicopter Landing Dock in the French Arsenal, and as anyone who has dealt with European bureaucracy can tell you, it was an absolute shock when the ship was delivered three months early. But why helicopter ships? Because they are cheaper!
