Much like its neighbors Norway and Denmark, Sweden has not tried to get into too many international conflicts since World War II. They have a small military which is mainly used for defense, consisting of only about 22,000 soldiers.
Due to aggression from their eastern neighbor, including overflights of Gotland Island, the Swedish government has said that it is considering expanding its military, especially after only six percent of Swedes believe they would be able to defend themselves against a Russian attack.
