The Vietnam People’s Armed Forces has three divisions included therein: the Vietnam Civil Defense Force, the Vietnam People’s Army, and the Vietnam People’s Public Security.
The division amongst the forces is a bit different then it is in the rest of the world, in that anyone who does not fly in a plane nor sail in a ship is under the direct command of the minister of defense. Vietnam is today one of the world’s largest arms importers for fear of a Chinese takeover.
