Australia is literally on the other side of the planet from the rest of us, but it has an extremely adept military. Despite having a small, 52 ship navy (especially for a giant island nation), it is responsible for the national defense of several countries, including Papua New Guinea.
There are currently 60,000 active duty Australian soldiers, and they have taken part in a multitude of NATO operations over the last few decades. However, they still lost a war against Emus.
