Genevieve spent her youth in Minneapolis, Minnesota as the only daughter of three children. While attending Minneapolis South High School, she played on the school’s soccer team and participated in the band, playing violin.
After she graduated in 1992, she attended Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon where she majored in international affairs. However, she quickly changed her career path after finding a niche in design during a graphic design course. She relocated to New York and graduated with a BFA in design from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan.
