Diana, Princess of Wales, almost seems like she wasn’t a real person. After all, it’s a story of an ordinary young woman marrying Prince Charming only to have their love end, followed by her own life ending tragically shortly thereafter. It almost sounds made up, but it’s completely real. So when Naomi Watts was cast to play the People’s Princess in Diana, she felt like the late royal herself blessed the choice. Watts said she felt Diana’s presence throughout the shoot, and that might have helped her – as did a prosthetic nose and painstaking research into her mannerisms.
