Although he had made a more substantial foray into acting, Andrew had not forgotten his original love of football. While he was living in America, he played professionally for several teams – playing for Los Angeles United in 1993, Anaheim Splash in 1994, and Los Angeles Galaxy in 1996.
By 1997 however, Andrew had reached 30 years of age, and spent the 1997 season unable to play due to an injury – essentially bringing his professional football career to an end.
