[post_page_title]Val Kilmer vs. Jim Morrison[/post_page_title]
The Doors, a biopic about the rock band of the same name headed by Jim Morrison, was a remarkable movie. It wasn’t memorable because it was particularly good, mind you, but for the simple reason that Val Kilmer didn’t just play Morrison – he became him. For a year, he studied everything from his mannerisms to his singing, to the point that Morrison’s own bandmates couldn’t tell the difference. The whole experience got so intense, in fact, that Kilmer had to see a therapist after shooting wrapped because he couldn’t shake the late Lizard King.
