In 1989, Andrew was awarded a B.A. in History by Dartmouth, and now had to make a decision about what he wanted to do. The choice seemed obvious to him, and he decided to pursue soccer professionally.
However, rather than stay in the U.S. and apply to join a club there, Shue decided to move to Zimbabwe, where he would play for the Bulawayo Highlanders. During this time, Andrew was also teaching math at Founders High School in Bulawayo.
