Not only are Elisabeth and Andrew Shue famous siblings, they are also related to a very famous ancestor. Through their mother, the Shues are related to William Brewster, an early English colonist who came to the Americas in 1620 on the Mayflower.
Brewster was one of the few members of the group that landed in Plymouth to have a university education, and was appointed the senior elder of the colony. He preached to and taught the colony members for years, coming to be known as a wise and kind elder.
