What would Buffy the Vampire Slayer be without Sarah Michelle Gellar as the leading lady? Well, we nearly had to find out as Katie Holmes successfully made her way through each round of auditions.
However, when the producers saw Sarah’s portrayal of the character they couldn’t say no. The rejection from the series had a silver lining for Katie though as shortly after the actress was offered the role of Joey Potter in the show Dawson’s Creek.
