It was Anderson against Anderson in the battle to land the role of Sana Scully in the show The X-Files. Pamela is still widely recognized as C. J. Parker from her time in Baywatch, but even with her acting repertoire, the show opted for Gillian for the role.
Gillian moved to LA just two years before the part to try and pursue a career in acting; landing the show was the big break she had been looking for. The actress still continues to play Sana to date.
