When auditions were being held for the Friends cast, Jon Cryer jumped at the chance to play Chandler Bing. However, he was starring in a play in the London West End as well, so didn’t have the time to commit to both roles.
He chose the play, and the role was given to Matthew Perry instead – to be fair, although both men are hilarious in their own right, Perry does just edge it. Jon Cryer went on to star in Two and a Half Men, so his comedy acting never went to waste.
