After the news broke that Peter Berg would transform his epic movie, Friday Night Lights, into a TV show, all eyes were on him to choose the perfect actor for Coach Taylor. Yet, it seems he was not after an actor – he was after the musician, Dwight Yoakam.
However, Dwight’s diva demands soon put the filmmaker off him. After much deliberation, Berg decided to cast Kyle Chandler in the role, even though he thought he was ‘too pretty’ to play a football coach.
