The late-Whitney Houston was so close to playing the role of Sandra in the series The Cosby Show that Jay Sandrich, the show’s director, was about to sign the contract when he backed out of the deal.
The show was worried that Whitney would struggle to commit to filming as she grew bigger and bigger as a singer. It was then that Sabrina LeBeauf was offered the part which she played throughout the entire series. As predicted, Whitney went on to become the princess of pop.
